Science Applications International (SAIC) has named Dr. Joseph Guerci vice president and chief technology officer of its Research, Development, Test and Evaluation Group. Guerci has more than 20 years of industrial, academic and government experience, and most recently was the director of the Special Projects Office with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). In his role at DARPA, Guerci was responsible for establishing the strategic technology investment portfolio and managing its execution. Prior to this, Guerci also was deputy director for the Special Projects Office and a program manager with DARPA. He has a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Science from City University of New York, and a master’s degree and doctorate degree in Systems Engineering from Polytechnic University, New York.
