EDO Wins Radar Simulator Deal from Canadian Air Force

The contract is worth $2.4 million with completed delivery by February 2007

EDO Corp. announced that it has been awarded a contract by the Canadian Air Force for AN/PLM-4 flight-line test units. The value of the order is approximately $2.4 million, with delivery to be completed by February 2007. The EDO AN/PLM-4 is a portable radar-signal simulator. By imitating enemy radar signals, it stimulates the electronic-defense systems onboard military aircraft. This is the most effective way of testing such electronic systems before takeoff, according to EDO. Since the product was introduced in 1998, EDO has now received orders for more than 970 systems in various configurations. To date, more than 730 of these systems have been delivered. In addition to the flight-line version, the radar-signal simulator is available in configurations for laboratory, shipboard and vehicle testing, EDO said.
