Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), John Warner (R-Va.) and Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) signed off on the Air Force’s conversion of the C-130J from a multiyear award to a regular contract with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) oversight. In a letter addressed this past week to Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne, the three members of the Senate Armed Services Committee said several misunderstandings during the past year between the service and the committee regarding the program had been resolved and that they were ready for the effort to move forward. The trio signed off on the move to convert the contract from FAR Part 12 to FAR Part 15 by October 2006.
